Sociology majors who went into advertising/marketing?

Lita Thammorongsa: I graduated with a B.S. in Sociology last December and found myself in a similar situation. Since then I have (and currently am) interning at two PR/Advertising firms.. If this is really what you want to do, then be patient and willing to work hard for little money (at least for now). Keep yourself informed (this will show in job interviews). I also found that working at a bigger firm gives you the opportunity to work with pr, advertising, and marketing..good if you still aren't 100% that this is what you want to do.. also consider taking some certification or undergrad/ grad courses in advertising while interning.....Show more
