Graphic Design - Fashion Design?

Jade Ohno: The only reason that I can see that you would go in to Fashion after Graphic design is if you would like to be a CAD artist for a fashion Design Company... which is a nice job.... You get to create the artwork and the prints for designers to use in the clothing and the more experience you get the better your paycheck...in just a few years you could be making a nice chunk of change... My suggestion is do the graphic design course , then fashion, that way you can put to use the graphics in the fashion courses if you are trying to go the CAD Artist route...plus if you are going to be a CAD artist for fashion it is better to know how the garments and fashion works on fabrics to make you are better designer...Show more

Dallas Bartolini: I'm a graphic designer and I was never taught to sew or come up with any fashion collections on either of my courses. We design magazines, promotional material, websites, logos, tv graphics and like me, some design greeting ca! rds. She needs to learn to draw people properly, study contemporary fashion and fabrics.
