Bethanie Menden: There are a lot of great Christmas ornaments that you can make pretty easily. I remember when I was a child, we made straw! berry ornaments. We took walnuts and painted them red. Once ! the red dried, we painted small black dots all over them. Then we cut out a piece of green felt and glued it to the top, along with a green piece of yarn, which was looped, as a hanger. All of our relatives LOVED them, and my mom still has hers on her tree. My daughters each made us one in Girl Scouts a few years ago. When my youngest daughter was in the hospital being treated for AML Leukemia, she and her older sister really got into "fusion beads" (actual brand name is Perler Beads). They are pretty inexpensive and easy to do if you follow the patterns. You can make them as simple or complex as you want. You can find them at most craft stores, or through the website listed below. Make sure to check out some of the samples on the website. They either hot glued a magnet to the back for a refrigerator magnet, or they looped a piece of clear fish line through the top as a Christmas ornament or window hanger....Show more
