Sheron Perrez: the hindu bride wear red dress
Terresa Tsasie: Well, depending on the region (or you can say state/language) , the wedding rituals, costumes, events differ. Normally the groom goes to the bride's place for the marriage ceremony . A typical marriage lasts as long as 4-5 hrs .hehehe.. The groom's friends, relatives who attend the marriage at the bride's place are called "barati" .All Indian marriages are full of dance, songs, celebrations, fireworks ..

Freeman Rutkin: Hinduism is the pre-Islamic and pre-Christian culture of a large! region which included at that time Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ind! ia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and even upto Indonesia and Cambodia. But now Hinduism is practised only in India. So culture varies from region to region and even that region, from one community to another. A person from one community in the south might not know head or tail of what happens at a wedding from a north Indian community. The differences arise due to the fact that the weddings use various self-grown agricultural produce. So depending on which region they are from, a particular community will have differences in those aspects. Some weddings ask God to witness as fire and some as water...Some have ceremonies lasting just 1 day, while some ceremonies last a fortnight. I have no idea about where this family is from and in that region, to which community they belong. But in most places, the guys parents come to the girl's house to fix everything. Strictly traditionally, the guy and girl never meet until the engagement. But these days, after the parents find a groom/bride,! they are allowed to go out and get to know each other. So I don't think anybody can help you with this other than the groom's family. Or maybe you can ask the groom himself? Be sure to hire a videographer to record the special moments. Hindu weddings are very colouful as women get to wear lovely saris and lots of jewellery!!...Show more
