Truman Biby: You need to get your associates degree with a major in dental hygiene. You don't need to get a different associates first. You go directly into your associates in dental hygiene. If your college doesn't offer dental hygiene as a major, you need to find one that does. Look at all the community colleges that are near you until you find one that offers this major. This major does tend to be offered at community colleges, and that's a good thing, because community colleges are reputable and inexpensive. You don't necessarily need a bachelors degree to be a dental hygienist. I think that only Michigan requires a bachelors degree to become a dental hygienist.
