This gives a general description of our profession as well as the six domains that cover what we do. In general, we will take care of sprains, strains, contusions, wounds, etc. Management of concussions also falls under our scope of care. If something falls outside of our scope of practice, it is our job to identify that, and refer the injured athlete to the proper advanced care. Obviously I'm not going to reset a fractured bone, but I do have to splint the injury until the athlete can be taken to the doctor for further treatment....Show more
