So HOW in the world can you find someone who you can trust will do a "good" install? (car audio)?

Jestine Osumi: I did. I enable them to place in 2 sort new jl 13w7 and a couple of sort new jl one thousand/1v2 amps and previously they set up they write down the situation of each thing you're permitting them to set up and the choose permit u take a seat at the back of a line in the back the place they set up issues and show you how to wtch. there is likewise a digital camera in there. I enable them to artwork on my new automobile. They did a great job. it extremely is all on the adventure of the installer. the two my installers had over 15 years of adventure...Show more

Augustus Sarria: I agree that the install is vital in the overall performance of a system but it is not everything. The components you use are equally as important. You should not downplay the difference a good sub and bad sub makes. There is a difference in quality and performance of a cheap and expensive sub. What I think is the most important part of the install is the enclosure. This is whe! re you can here the "a cheap sub can outperform an expensive sub" from. It is very true as well. The enclosure greatly reflects the overall output and sound of your subs. That is an area of great focus for me.Other then that there are important things in an install that make a difference. Knowing what settings will work the best is a good thing. Also, setting up your system so that your sybs do not blow is important as well.First, what you need to do is figure out your goal or ideal outcome. What type of sound are you looking for the most? What exactly do you want to spend on the complete install. What are your priorities in your system? The more you plan out your goals the better you can set up your system.I owned some Diamond Audio D6 subs and know that they are excellent subs. However, like you said, they are not output monsters. They are good for sound quality and can give you a decent amount of output in the right enclosure. The output is good enough for ma! ny people, like me, but if you want loud bass it may not be en! ough. For those subs especially I would say the enclosure is VITAL. There is a HUGE difference in output between different enclosures. The above example is also where planning is important. If you tell a salesman or someone that you are looking for output then they may not suggest the Diamond Audio subs. They will know that those subs are not great for output and should suggest other subs.Do your research. You should get some quotes on installs and complete systems. Then look on the internet at reviews or look on forums to see if these subs and amps are any good. One other part of research is the installer. What I have done in the past is search around my area for well known installers. I have done this on the internet and actually found one that was named one of the Top 100 installers by a car audio magazine. MECP is a plus so see if you can find an installer that has that certification. As for going to a store like circuit city, it all depends on the store. I k! now that may not help you but it is the best answer I can give you. I know installers at CC that are great and know their stuff. I would have no problem going to them for an install. I do also know of some installers that I don't think should be touching a car. It all depends on the installer and a lot of times the store. Some of the CC managers will care more then others on the quality of the installer. Good Luck!!!...Show more

Ester Bryand: Use this as a guideline. Study it well and use it for a "questionnaire" to the next person you go to. If they fail any part, go somewhere else.http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com
