answers1:Encyclopedia's don't have specific authors. Some
encyclopedias might contain initials after articles that denote the
authors for that particular article but there is no author for a
volume of the world book (btw if your doing a works sited you do need
to know the volume number for J-K).
answers2:If you are citing an article in the encyclopedia, you can use
the author of the article, if he/she is identified. Usually the name
will be at the end of the article in italics. The citation would look
something like this: Sturgeon, Theodore. "Science Fiction." The
Encyclopedia Americana. International ed. 1995. This is according to
MLA guidelines, anyway. I think University of Chicago guidelines are
