Debora Rinderer: The tape recorder was left behind, so the murderer made it look like a suicide instead of a murder while leaving evidence that it was a murder. The murderer had to have been there to record and stop the recording or else it would have recorded long after the gunshot. He would have also had to have been there so he could rewind the tape.
