Explain the American Education System?

Lino Cawthorne: One word, ****

Raul Tllo: degenerating (a one word answer)...pathetic , and not able to keep up competitively with countries in the world placing a real value on education....this is in regard to public schools in the U.S.

Davina David: Most states require schooling to begin by age 7. You either have to register your child for school, or notify your school district that your child is being homeschooled. Laws may vary from state to state. Most parents send their children at age 5 to Kindergarten. Grades 1-12 are next (ages 6-18), but at age 16 school is no longer compulsory. If you finish 12th grade and get a diploma, the next step is get a job or go to college (or university). If you do not finish 12th grade, but later wish you had, you can take a test called GED (General Equivalency Diploma?) If you are 17, you can get a job (not a very high paying job, but something. You want fries with that?) or you can stay in high school, or you can take ! a GED exam and if you pass, enroll in a community college. Or you can be a bum, but I do not recommend that. :-)...Show more
