Shandi Wedge: How much opportunity do you REALLY have to socialize with your friends at school, when you are expected to pretty much sit still and be quiet most of the day? A few minutes before and after school starts, perhaps, and if you are lucky enough a few minutes between classes here and there (some real quality time there) and lunch if you share it.If school is necessary for you to socialize, what do you do on evenings, weekends, holidays and winter/spring/summer vacations?The fact is, you can home school and still have your friends. Presumably, you will still have access to a phone, internet, and the ability to get together like you do now. And, since homeschooling generally takes less time than a public school day you will have MORE free time and can follow your interests and make new friends (in addition to, not in place of, your current friends).Homeschooling is not a punishment, you need not have "done anything". Foster Padgette: Hi! I was in public school for part of 8'th grade and it was horrible. :( Home school takes adjusting to, yes, but it's not so bad. You can even join a home school group. (My best friend is in one.) I've been going to church all of my life and our church has TONS of teens, so I have friends. :) And if your friends are really your friends then it won't matter to them if your in home school or not.And your parents may want you in home school because to much crap happens at public schools.
