Preschool education question?

Nannie Kasee: Glad you're interested in early childhood education! I've been a preschool teacher for ten years, and it is a very rewarding job. I would strongly encourage you to look for a volunteer, or paid teacher assistant program. This will help you in three ways:1. You will get to see if you truly like to be in a preschool environment. Unfortunately I have seen a lot of teachers go through all of the licensing and student teaching process, only to find out that they really didn't like the day to day work of being a teacher. 2. You will get real life professional experience. This will look great on your resume whether applying for further education, or a future teaching job.3. You could get a full teacher job out of it! Depending on the state or school you may only need a few education classes, plus a couple months classroom experience, before you can be a full teacher. People leave preschools to have children, get different jobs, etc. If you have shown quality skills! you could be their replacement.Best of luck!...Show more
